Watch me as I die
Of hunger, thirst and lies
Of ignorance and indifference
And of rotten, shallow minds.
Watch me as I suffer
From hurt, strong and bitter,
From unwavering faith-
That all turns out better.
Watch me as I cry-
For souls lost, and dry
Of all who turned their backs
To love, joy and life!
Watch me as I walk away-
As I turn to stone
Inside, I harden-
One day, when I’ll care no more.
Of hunger, thirst and lies
Of ignorance and indifference
And of rotten, shallow minds.
Watch me as I suffer
From hurt, strong and bitter,
From unwavering faith-
That all turns out better.
Watch me as I cry-
For souls lost, and dry
Of all who turned their backs
To love, joy and life!
Watch me as I walk away-
As I turn to stone
Inside, I harden-
One day, when I’ll care no more.

the smiley was regarding the innate sadness you seemed to have accepted as a part of you. but the way that sadness gives you a voice, that is what i find amazing.

Poetry is a way of purging the sadness. Oh, I fight that part of me tooth and nail.
