After the War

A part of every history. The unnecessary, the futile attacks. But who stops to think? And listen?  This is an show of outrage and a plea for peace.

the brilliant sun
blinded the eyes.
the loud wind
shrouded all cries.
the wails of the mothers,
the helpless fathers,
standing over their daughters
the spoils of the wars;
and the lost sons
the result of the farce-
the calm after storm
the storm for peace,
and the alleged calm.
where is the solace,
where is life?
eaten and spit,
or roasted alive!
Calm, you say?
only the weapons cease;
still can hear
the lament, the weeping,
and taste the fear
that the calm’s gripping!
where is the victory?
o’ you Statesmen,
a paper and a pen
  and winning a treaty?
give back the dears,
the daughters’ virtues
and the sons’ lives,
wipe all the tears
and triumph then you might.
till then you are the loser,
the destroyer
of hope, of love, of families,
and all that was right.

Wars only bring needless massacre of precious lives and unwanted destruction in it's wake.

“a man kills a man…it is bad for watever reasons!!!”

You are right from a moral, humanistic point of view.

But if we dont end wars on our terms then others will consider us weak…..which might act as an incentive to attack again.

Cheers and lets pray for peace.

Thanks to the ones who called this a RAP and me a Rapper! Really really bid thanks, it's a genre of music I hate, and now I know what a good poet I am! 😛

    And Indian Pundit

I'd rather not have that war. Tell me of one that had yielded true results without completely obliterating the enemy. Not having a war isn't weakness, it is a strength that bullies do not understand.

So here I'm with Sid… thanks for the thoughts.

And IP, I had thought you had forgotten about the “scientific” part *sigh* 😀

“…I'd rather not have that war…”

Listen,NOBODY likes wars. I am as much anti-war as you are or anyone else. War kills people, destroys cities and what not.NO SANE PERSON CAN SUPPORT IT
But in this world, there are certain elements who are beyond any kind of peaceful negotiations.
Those elements are a nuisance to the entire world and also to its neighbors for example Taliban,Nazi Germany. Therefore, sometimes war becomes a necessity for self defence of countries.

More on this later as power cut…

Ektu bhabo…why do Pak based terrorists keep on attacking India???? Simply because they know…maximum india can do is talk talk and talk…we never hit pakistan on its soil….this acts as an “incentive” to attack India again and again……

Note: Okay, i accept its a poem. A brilliant poem infact.
    Happy now??……lol

I am happy, but I'd be happier if you meant it. I don't mind criticism, it makes me better all the time. 🙂

What I wrote (the poem) is about the unnecessary wars, issues that can be solved by talks. I, of course, am completely for defending!

A nice poem. On many counts I am with IP. In movie 'Laksha' , one soldier express himself with the same words and feelings of IP;”I am as anti war as all of you…but if I don't fight you will not be staying in your homes so peacefully!'
But wars have bad effects and as you say we should not have wars with wrong purposes in mind! Avoiding wars at any rate is very difficult and can cost too much than the war itself!!
